RESEARCH AND PLANNING TASK: TITLE FONTS

Choosing, the right font for a movie is important. This is because it can have a significant impact on a film. Furthermore, different font styles give the audience and an idea of what genre a movie is and what to expect.

I created a mood board, of fonts used as titles in well-known horror films.
The title of our film is called SEEN 23:59 PM. We choose this as our title because it relates to the content in our opening two minutes. Down below are some examples of font ideas for our movie title.

Neue Helvetica 55 Roman font

The first font is particularly relevant to our film because it’s the same font used in the app iMessage. This app will be used in the beginning of our opening two-minute. The font is simple and basic. Additionally, each of the letters is exactly the same size.Using, this font for our title is effective because it's bold and clear making it easy for the audience to read.

Chops Chops by Font Monger

The font is effective because it’s bold and striking. The sharp edges on each of the letters imply sinister. Furthermore, the font also suggests sharp weapons perhaps a knife used by the killer. Although this font gives off a dark aura, it would be more suitable the genre action Horror.

The Defiler font by Font Monger

This font style is messy and effective because it creates mystery and confusion. However, by using this font it could make it difficult for the audience to read, as it’s not clear. The streakiness and spiky texture of the font looks like blood and implies violence. However, I don’t think it would fit in with our film Seen 23:59 PM because the font resembles the horror genre slasher.

Adobe Caslon Pro font
The font Adobe Caslon Pro, will be used for our tile because it's similar to fonts used in most horror films.
